The program
01Who it’s for
In the fall of 2020, we started a program for students struggling in virtual environments. Today it is the heart of what we do. Students keep their virtual enrollment and come to Rise Above for the support that online school cannot give on its own.
Enrolled in a fully virtual program
Rise Above only accepts students who are fully virtual.
Needs academic and social support
Falling behind, missing coursework, or simply struggling to stay motivated online.
Would thrive in a smaller setting
A small, structured classroom where it is easier to focus and easier to be known.
02What students get
Virtual school gives students the coursework. Rise Above gives them the place, the tools, and the people to actually finish it.
Weekdays from 8:30 AM to 2:30 PM, with the structure students need to catch up on missing coursework.
Reliable high-speed internet and computer access, in a focused space built for learning.
In-person help for the classes that need it, so no one is stuck staring at a screen alone.
A smaller setting where it is easier to focus, easier to ask for help, and easier to be known.
Rebuilding trust and healthy relationships is at the heart of everything we do.
We connect students and families to community resources through networking and resource sharing.
A day at Rise Above
8:30to2:30
A full school day, Monday to Friday, in our building on Fleming Ave.

03Relationships first
The most important part of Rise Above is the relationship built with each student. In our personal, academic, and professional lives, healthy relationships play a vital role in creating lasting, positive outcomes.

The most important part of Rise Above is the relationship we build with each student.
Every student has a different story, so no two relationships look the same.
We help students build healthy networks of people around them, in school, at home, and in the community.
The connections students make here do not end when the program does.
04How enrollment works
Rise Above only serves students enrolled in a fully virtual program. If that sounds like your student, here is what to expect.
Do this first
Request transcripts now.
If your student is accepted after the in-person interview, we will need a few documents, including transcripts. Transcripts take the longest to arrive, so ask your student’s current or previous school for them as soon as you apply.
